1 Introduction & Core Philosophy
Welcome to Working Hours Time Tracker (referred to as "the App", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our mobile application available on the Google Play Store.
We believe personal work logs, hourly rates, work hours, and punch records are private and sensitive personal records. Therefore, the App is engineered around an offline-first architecture: we do not maintain central user databases, we do not require account logins, and we do not upload your personal attendance sheets to any server.
2 Information We Collect & How It Is Used
Depending on how you interact with the App, the following categories of information may be processed:
A. Information You Provide & Store Locally
- Work Schedules & Punches: Check-in times, check-out times, breaks, overtime, and work shifts.
- Financial & Wage Settings: Hourly rates, wage targets, currency preferences, and calculation formulas entered by you for personal estimation.
- Notes & Tags: Any optional notes or project descriptions attached to time entries.
All the above data remains exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted to us or any cloud server operated by us.
B. Automatically Collected Technical & Diagnostic Data
To diagnose stability issues, prevent application crashes, and optimize performance across thousands of Android device models, we integrate trusted third-party analytics and diagnostic SDKs provided by Google/Firebase:
- Crash & Performance Reports: Stack traces, device state at the moment of a crash, operating system version, device manufacturer, and model (via Firebase Crashlytics).
- Aggregated App Analytics: Pseudonymous interaction metrics such as screen views, session duration, and feature adoption rates to help us understand which features need improvement (via Google Analytics for Firebase).
- Device Identifiers: Non-personally identifiable diagnostic IDs (such as Firebase Installation IDs or Android Advertising IDs where allowed) used solely for diagnostic troubleshooting and telemetry.
3 Third-Party Service Providers & Policies
The App utilizes industry-standard third-party services provided by Google LLC to ensure app stability, deliver updates, and provide essential mobile infrastructure. These third parties may collect non-personally identifiable diagnostic information governed by their independent privacy policies.
Below are the official links to the privacy policies of the third-party service providers used in this application:

4 Android Device Permissions Explained
In accordance with Google Play Developer Policy, our app asks only for the permissions strictly required to perform its functions. Here is why each permission is declared in our manifest:
| Permission | Purpose | Optional / Required |
|---|---|---|
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Allows the app to display punch-in timers, shift finish alerts, and scheduled break reminders configured by the user. | Optional (Can be turned off in OS settings) |
| USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT | Enables the optional App Lock feature using Android's standard secure BiometricPrompt. Biometric verification is performed entirely by your hardware Keystore; raw fingerprint or face data is never accessible to the app. | Optional (User-activated feature) |
| INTERNET | Required for sending anonymous crash reports to Firebase Crashlytics, receiving app update availability signals, and delivering cloud notifications. | Required for crash telemetry & updates |
| ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Allows the app to determine if network connectivity is available before attempting to deliver anonymous crash logs or perform background tasks. | Required for network diagnostics |
| VIBRATE | Provides haptic feedback upon tapping punch buttons and timer notifications. | Optional / System standard |
5 Biometric Authentication & Data Security
We take the security of your time tracker records very seriously:
- Android Application Sandbox: Your local database and preferences are stored within Android's protected application sandbox, inaccessible to other apps installed on your device.
- Biometric Security: When you enable the Biometric or PIN lock inside the App, authentication is executed solely via official Android androidx.biometric APIs. Your biometrics (fingerprints, face data) never leave your phone's Secure Enclave / Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and are never read or stored by our app.
- No Public Cloud Database: Because your attendance data is not held on an external database, your records cannot be breached in a remote cloud security incident.
6 Your Data Rights & How to Delete Data
You have full and unconditional control over all records created in the App:
- Edit or Delete Specific Records: You can edit, modify, or permanently remove individual punch logs, shifts, or days directly within the app interface at any time.
- Reset All Data: You can clear all logs and configuration by selecting the "Reset All Data" option located within the Settings menu of the app.
- Device Deletion: You can delete all locally stored data immediately by going to your device's Android Settings > Apps > Working Hours Time Tracker > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data.
- Complete Removal via Uninstall: Uninstalling the app permanently purges all attendance records and application databases from your device.
7 Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance)
Working Hours Time Tracker is designed for general audiences as a professional productivity tool. We do not knowingly target, market to, or collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through customer support inquiries, please contact us immediately, and we will promptly remove such records.
8 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features, updated regulations, or changes in third-party libraries. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" revision date at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
